The Story Behind the RC-Chassis

What started as a simple idea turned into a five-year journey of prototypes, late nights, and engineering work together with professional developers.
Watch the story of how the RC-Chassis came to life.

The Engineering

The RC-Chassis was developed together with professional engineers with insane creativity, combined with what it actually takes to turn it into a production-ready product.

Production in Sweden

About 350 km/217 miles from Ängelholm where Koenigsegg builds its hypercars.

$60,000 has already been invested to get the RC-Chassis to this point.

Now, the final step to production remains...

Support the RC-Chassis

Just by purchasing anything on the website, you are already supporting the RC-Chassis.

100% of all profits are reinvested into starting production.

If you want to support the RC-Chassis directly, you can become an Early Supporter.

Early Supporters get:

• An allocation for one of the first production units once production begins. Of course at an Early Supporter price
!

• Access to development and progress email updates, where we’ll also do our best to answer any questions you may have
.

• The possibility to give input and influence the final product.

Important:
This is a way to support the development and production of the RC-Chassis. The project is close to production, but there are still uncertainties, and timelines or outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

But every bit of support brings it one step closer to production!

FAQ

When will The RC-Chassis be available to order?

Once we reach the financial goal needed to start production. Right now, it’s looking like that could be around the end of the summer.

At the moment we’re working towards ordering the injection molds, and as soon as those are manufactured and set up, we’ll be able to start taking pre-orders.

Will there be different wheelbase versions, or is it adjustable?

We’ve designed the chassis in a way where all the internals can stay the same, and it’s mainly about producing a different shell for different wheelbases, stud layouts, etc.

So it’s not adjustable, but it does make it much easier for us to release different versions. If the first one becomes a success, we’ll definitely look into more variations.

We did explore making it adjustable early on, but it ended up being too complex and costly to justify.

What will the final price be?

We haven’t set an exact price yet, but we’re doing everything we can to get it around $100–150 while staying true to quality and fair manufacturing in Sweden.

Will it work with a controller, or will there be a controller version?

As an RC enthusiast myself, I really wanted to include a proper controller from the beginning. I looked into both developing our own and using existing ones.

The challenge is that it essentially becomes a whole second product. It adds quite a bit in terms of development, manufacturing, packaging size, inventory, and shipping.

On top of that, when you certify a product, everything included has to be certified together as one product. Since this involves radio modules, that process also becomes quite expensive, even if the controller itself is already certified.

With all of that combined, it just added too much cost and risk for this first version.

Right now it’s controlled via Bluetooth through an app. We are looking into making it possible to use Bluetooth controllers (like Xbox or similar), but can’t promise that will be available right from the start.

If this becomes a success though, we’ll definitely look into developing a version with a proper controller in the future.

Will The RC-Chassis be compatible with all the models available on the website?

Since The RC-Chassis is a fixed base with electronics inside (even though we’ve done everything to keep it as compact as possible), it does take up some space. So models built on top either need to be modified to fit the chassis, or be specifically designed for it.

Initially, I actually designed all models with the idea that they would eventually work with The RC-Chassis. But as development started taking a lot more time and money, without knowing if we’d be able to
actually pull it off, I decided to continue designing them independently instead.

That being said, once The RC-Chassis becomes available, I’ll go back and either modify many of the existing models to fit it, or create new ones specifically designed for it.

And of course, if you’ve already purchased a design, you’ll get any updated instructions for free.

One last thing...

This project has been a huge part of my life for the past 5 years.

Every build, every video, everything I’ve shared. it’s all been leading up to this.

Seeing it finally this close to production is honestly surreal.

So whether you choose to support or not, thank you for being part of this journey.

It really means A LOT!
